HERITAGE ARTS AND CULTURE
We provide a meaningful hospitality experience by curating cultural heritage and local artistry. Throughout our properties, we incorporate elements of Singapore’s diverse traditions and creative expressions, offering guests a deeper connection to the local community. From showcasing original works by homegrown artists to collaborating on heritage-inspired experiences, we aim to reflect the stories, flavours, and spirit of the neighbourhoods we serve. These efforts are part of our broader commitment to creating welcoming experiences that celebrate local identity and inspire authentic discovery.
- We commissioned Ripple Root, a renowned local artist duo, to create vibrant artworks and murals for Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre and Hotel Mi Rochor, celebrating Singapore’s contemporary art scene.
- Adding to this artistic journey, we engaged Paul Wang, a prominent Singaporean artist and urban sketcher, whose expressive ink-and-watercolour works are featured in the Classic Rooms at Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre. His illustrations capture the charm of Chinatown’s heritage shophouses through the unique perspective of looking out from shophouse windows, blending playful strokes with cultural storytelling.
- To offer our guests an authentic experience of Chinatown and provide insights into local Chinese culture and customs, we collaborate with Monster Day Tours to organise complimentary Chinatown walking tours. We have also partnered with them for free Singapore City walking tours, allowing guests to explore the rich history of the nation through inspiring stories that have shaped Singapore.
- We have partnered with the prominent local mural artist, Yip Yew Chong, to showcase his distinctive heritage-themed murals throughout Chinatown, creating an immersive walking trail for hotel guests.
- We collaborated with Nanyang Old Coffee, a local traditional coffee house, to provide hotel guests with an authentic experience exploring Singapore’s unique coffee heritage and cultural traditions.
- To provide tea appreciation sessions for our guests to learn about the traditional tea brewing and appreciation process, we partnered with Tea Chapter, a heritage teahouse in Chinatown, to offer this experience.
