ENVIRONMENT

At Worldwide Hotels Group, we are committed to creating a sustainable hospitality experience through thoughtful design and responsible operations. Our hotels prioritise energy and water efficiency by implementing initiatives such as installing solar panels, adopting LED lighting, and using motion sensor systems to significantly reduce energy consumption. We promote green travel by offering EV chargers at selected properties and have taken steps to minimise single-use plastics by providing filtered tap water and in-room dispensers. As part of our waste management efforts, we repurpose used linens and provide clearly labelled recycling bins to encourage responsible disposal. Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our Green Buildings and Assets, with several hotels meeting the BCA Green Mark criteria, which recognise excellence in environmentally responsible operations.

Energy and Water Efficiency

  • We harness renewable energy to reduce reliance on grid electricity and lower carbon emissions by installing solar panels at Hotel Boss, V Hotel Lavender, Hotel 81 Lavender, Hotel 81 Rochor, and Hotel 81 Dickson. This initiative helps fight climate change and contributes to long-term environmental sustainability.
  •  To support the transition to low-carbon transport and reduce our overall carbon footprint, our properties, Hotel Boss, Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre, V Hotel Lavender, and Value Hotel Thomson, are equipped with Volt EV chargers.
  • Filtered tap water, biodegradable amenities, and wall-mounted dispensers for toiletries are provided in our guestrooms to minimise single-use plastics and encourage sustainable consumption habits.
  • Energy-efficient infrastructure is employed in all hotels to reduce energy consumption and optimise operational efficiency. This includes LED lighting, motion sensor systems in rooms, and energy-saving air conditioning units and appliances.

Waste Management

  • We extend the lifecycle of used linens that are no longer suitable for guest use by repurposing them through recycling or by reusing them for non-guest-facing purposes.
  • Clearly labelled recycling bins are available in all hotels to assist with the collection and sorting of recyclable materials, including plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, and tin cans.
  • Defective or outdated electrical appliances are responsibly disposed of by placing them in electronic waste depositories for proper recycling and environmental compliance.

Green Buildings and Assets

  • Our hotels, including Hotel Boss, V Hotel Bencoolen, V Hotel Lavender, Hotel Mi Bencoolen, Hotel Mi Rochor, Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre, and Novotel Singapore on Kitchener, met the BCA Green Mark criteria, recognising our commitment to building and operating properties that are environmentally responsible.
